About the art

The maple leaves to the left were made using the process described in the "D. I. Y." section, using the paint program which came with the computer. I have always been fond of maple leaves, and you may see more in the "Vorkosigan" section. The maple leaves on this page make a nice, neutral background for the use of some of the bolder colors of autumn.

All of the five bottom tiles tile with each other; different effects were used on the same basic picture. One may thus use the tiles to create checkerboard patterns of different textures, use one pattern for the interior of a table and another for the exterior, et cetera.

Instructions for use

The "SEE IT!" button will allow you to preview how the tile looks when tiled across a page.

You may save the gif versions of the tiles by right clicking.

With Netscape Communicator, "Save Image As."

In Internet Explorer, use "Save Picture As."

To save the bitmap versions:

If your are using Netscape, you may download the bitmap versions of the tiles on the left by clicking (your computer should ask you if you want to download the thing).
You may also right click and use "Save Link As."

If you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, right click and "Save Target As" to download the bitmap.
