Choose a size for your square, remembering that your square will tile. You don't need to actually make a square (though I have here), but keep it in mind. |

Fill your square with your overlapping design. Overlap the edges of the square to two sides of the square (here the left and top), but not to the other two sides. |

Remove the two sides outside the square from edge to edge only (here the top is removed from the left edge to the right edge and the left side of the square is removed from the top edge to the bottom edge). |

Move the two sides to the opposite side interior (here the outside top is moved to the inside bottom, and the outside left is moved to the inside right). Align carefully. |
|
Move the leftover outside corner to the diagonal inside corner. |
